Finance Manager
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Finance Manager to help support the mission of a non profit that ensures economic justice and equity for women in Los Angeles.
Position Objective: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a budget of $15M. Functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable and receivable, grants reporting, and closing activities.The Finance Manager will ensure implementation of systems and procedures for flawless audits, and will additionally support the CFO, Operations team and management on training related to financial procedures and reporting.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage General Accounting and Reporting.
- Accurately record A/R, maintain donor profiles, deposits, and conduct and document monthly reconciliation with the Development team.
- Accurately manage A/P, maintain vendor profiles, process awards and stipend payments for multiple grants.
- Ensure timely and accurate GL recordings in preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Ensure proper implementation of all financial policies and procedures through communication and training.
- Work closely with the CFO and management team to monitor department and grant budgets.
- Monitor and update integrations of accounting systems to ensure accurate recording and timely processing.
Support Audit and Tax Duties and Compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of audit and tax return schedules.
- Prepare annual filings, including 1099s.
- Familiarize self and play supportive role in sales tax report processes.
- Stay up to date with banking, tax and nonprofit reporting requirements (federal, state,foundation).
- Ensure Payroll Processing and Reporting.
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Reconcile payroll tax returns to accounting records.

- Support finance team and provide trainings to non-finance staff in accounting policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive work environment and internal collaboration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or 5+ years of relevant experience including experience with budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, and nonprofit audits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling software, and accounting software. Advanced QuickBooks Online and Bill.com experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data and make sound financial decisions.
- Independent judgment in resolving financial issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present financial information to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure financial data integrity.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and market conditions.
