Private Event Sales Manager

One of our awesome clients, The United Theater on Broadway, an iconic venue in DTLA is looking for A Private Event Sales Manager to join the team and help to deliver exceptional events in their historic space.  The theater offers a unique setting for private events ranging from corporate gatherings and weddings to community events and special celebration. 

Job Overview:

The Private Event Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and managing all aspects of private events held at the theater. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, sales acumen, and exceptional customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in event sales and management, a deep appreciation for historic venues, and a talent for creating memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to attract and secure private events. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate events, weddings, and community gatherings.
  •  Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through event execution. Understand client needs, provide tailored recommendations, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  •  Event Coordination: Work closely with clients and internal teams to plan and execute events. Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including contract negotiation, space planning, catering, audiovisual needs, and décor.
  •  Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to drive event sales. Represent the theater at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows.
  •  Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability while maintaining high standards of quality. Provide accurate cost estimates and financial reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
  •  Historical Preservation: Ensure all events align with the theater’s mission to preserve its historical integrity. Educate clients about the theater’s history and features to enhance their event experience.
  •  Team Collaboration: Work closely with the theater’s management, operations, and technical teams to ensure seamless event execution. Provide guidance and support to event staff as needed while adhering to the company’s security policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
  • · Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event sales and management, preferably in a historic or unique venue.
  • · Proven track record of successful sales and client relationship management.
  • · Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • · Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in a professional manner.
  • · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • · Passion for history and an appreciation for preserving and promoting historic venues.
