Helen Evans Home (ICF/DD) has been serving children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1963. We are a 42-bed residential facility for infants, children and young adults with multiple-disabilities such as intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and other genetic disorders. Our age range is from 0 to 50. We’ve worked hard to create a home-like environment while providing optimal level of health and maximum personal growth and development.

We provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. We put an emphasis on staff training and development to ensure that the residents get the best care possible in a loving and learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a compassionate CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant. The position will provide general care to ensure the health, safety and well being of each client. Implementation of client’s individualized service plans through an active treatment program that promotes the growth and development of the clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure for the personal care and appearance of all clients.
  • Ensure that the living environment remains safe, comfortable, clean and supportive to the client’s needs.
  • Implement daily program activities as directed on the facility program schedule.
  • Have knowledge of and implement the Individual Service Plan for each client. Must be familiar with all objectives as written by the facility Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Communicate with facility QMRP regarding client progress and needs.
  • Must have knowledge of client’s rights and must protect and advocate for these rights.
  • Must attend all required in-service training sessions and staff meetings. A minimum of 3 hours of in-service training per month is required.
  • Communicate all health related issues in a timely fashion to the Licensed Nurses and/or Director of Nurses.
  • Must have knowledge of how to respond to emergency situations.
  • Monitor and provide proper maintenance for client’s personal properties, including clothing, toiletries and other personal belongings.
  • Must complete all documentation as required. Documentation includes, but is not limited to charting for ADLs, IPP objectives and behavior data.
  • Must report to work promptly and as scheduled.
  • Must appear at work well groomed and appropriately dressed.
  • Must observe al safety, health and infection control standards.
  • Must adhere to facility policy and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Current California certification as a nurse assistant.
  • Criminal clearance (via live scan) to work in an ICF/DD, H or N home.
  • Current CPR card, employment physical and TB screening.
  • Physical ability to perform work duties as outlined below.
  • Must have basic reading, writing and communication skills to communicate effectively to all level of staff and clients and to complete necessary documentation.
